Bone doesn't wait

When a tooth is missing, the bone in that spot stops getting stimulation and slowly shrinks, month after month. The longer the gap sits empty, the more likely you'll need a bone graft before an implant. That's why an early evaluation matters — even if you decide to treat later.

Bridges and dentures take their toll

A bridge grinds down healthy neighboring teeth to hold itself up, and a removable denture shifts, presses, and does nothing to stop bone loss. They bridge the gap — literally — but neither replaces the root.

Quotes back home that make you close the tab

In the US, a single implant typically runs $4,000 to $6,000, and a full arch can pass $25,000. Many of our patients had been postponing treatment for years because of exactly that.

Nervous about treatment abroad

That's normal. It's why everything starts with a free WhatsApp evaluation, why you sign off on your plan and price before any procedure, and why we handle airport pickup, a bilingual team, and follow-up after you're home.

How an implant works — and why time matters

A dental implant is a titanium post surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over roughly 6 months (osseointegration). An abutment then connects a custom zirconia crown to the post. Unlike a bridge or denture, an implant doesn't lean on neighboring teeth — and it transmits chewing force into the bone the way a natural root does, which helps keep that bone stimulated and intact.

Here's the honest part: the longer a tooth has been missing, the more bone that area has lost, and the more likely your plan will include a bone graft. That's not a reason to panic — it's a reason to plan properly. Your evaluation with photos and a panoramic X-ray (plus a CBCT 3D scan at the clinic) determines exactly what your bone needs. If a graft is required, it's usually done in the same visit and quoted upfront in your plan — never added later.

Your path, step by step

1 · Free WhatsApp evaluation

You send photos and, if you have one, a panoramic X-ray. Our medical team reviews your case and your exact budget arrives right here in the chat — along with the real number of trips your case would take.

2 · Trip 1: scan and surgery (3 to 5 days)

We pick you up at the airport. CBCT 3D scan, then a final surgical plan you review and sign before anything happens — including any bone graft, quoted upfront. Implant placement takes 60 to 90 minutes per tooth under local anesthetic. Where the case allows, you leave with a temporary tooth the same day.

3 · Healing at home (months 1 to 6)

The titanium post fuses with your bone. This is the most important phase and it cannot be rushed — any clinic promising otherwise is selling you speed, not medicine. We check in on WhatsApp at week 1, month 1, and month 3.

4 · Trip 2: abutment and final crown (2 to 3 days)

The abutment goes in and your zirconia crown is fabricated. Shape, shade, and bite are checked before it's bonded. You fly home with your final tooth, an aftercare kit, and WhatsApp follow-up from home.

5 · Full arch: usually 2 trips as well

Most All-on-4 and All-on-6 cases are completed in 2 trips over 6 to 12 months. Some cases need a short third visit for the final fitting — you'd know upfront, never as a surprise. We tell you this upfront because we'd rather you plan well than get surprised.

Our medical team

Our clinic has been treating patients in Medellín since 2010, INVIMA-licensed (Colombia's FDA equivalent), with an in-house surgical team specialized in implantology. We work with the same materials US specialty practices specify — BioHorizons implants and Ivoclar's ZirCAD Prime zirconia — and every plan is built on diagnostic imaging, not promises. The team is bilingual and stays with you from your first WhatsApp photo to your last follow-up after you're back home.

Frequently asked questions

How many trips does it really take?

For a single tooth: 2 trips over about 6 months — Trip 1 is 3 to 5 days (scan and surgery), Trip 2 is 2 to 3 days (abutment and final crown). For a full arch (All-on-4 or All-on-6): usually 2 trips as well — some cases need a short third visit for the final fitting, and you'd know upfront. The implant needs real time to fuse with your bone, and there is no honest shortcut for that.

Will I need a bone graft?

Roughly 30 to 40% of implant cases need some form of bone augmentation — and the longer the tooth has been missing, the more likely it is. It's confirmed with your panoramic X-ray and the CBCT 3D scan on Day 1. If a graft is needed, it's usually done in the same visit and quoted upfront in your plan (US$450 per implant site) — never added later.

Will I be without a tooth between trips?

In most cases, no. Where the case allows, we fit a temporary tooth at the end of Trip 1 — a temporary crown for a single front tooth, or a temporary bridge for All-on-4 cases. You fly home with a functional, presentable smile and come back for the final crown on Trip 2.

Does it hurt?

The procedure is done under local anesthetic and takes 60 to 90 minutes per tooth. Most patients describe it as easier than a tooth extraction, with mild discomfort for 2 to 4 days managed with regular painkillers and soft foods.

What would it cost me exactly?

The public starting points: from US$1,200 per tooth all-in, All-on-4 from US$9,000, and All-on-6 from US$9,900 per arch. Your exact budget arrives with your evaluation, here in the chat, after our team reviews your photos and X-ray — and you sign off on it before any procedure.

I smoke. Can I still get implants?

We can evaluate you, but we'll be straight with you: smoking significantly raises the risk that an implant fails to integrate, especially during the healing months. Our medical team will recommend pausing around your treatment. Tell us in your evaluation — honesty in both directions makes better plans.
